A year ago during my vacation near Padova I stumbled upon a small winery – Azienda Agricola Mutta. I’ve met Massimo Mutta, the vintner, in town on a random occasion. He invited me to stop by his winery which was only a few minutes away from the apartment I stayed at. After a touring through the winery he offered me to try some of his wine. Of course I couldn’t resist. A few hours and glasses later I decided to buy a few boxes of his wine. A box each of Merlot, Pinot Bianco and Cabernet-Sauvignon.
The wine’s color is bright but it has no yellow color pigments. On the nose I had mostly lemons. On the palate I note the acidity at first. It didn’t disturb me. The finish was short to medium. ABV is labeled at 12.5%.
My meal with this wine was a summer salad with buffalo-mozzarella followed by fried zucchini flowers stuffed with anchovies.
Retailing for 12€ (if you buy a full box at the winery you get a huge discount) this wine can be your perfect summer night wine. I’m glad I bought a full box and can recommend it.
Also don’t forget the poll which you might remember from the last post of the winery review series. If you haven’t voted yet there is still time.
