The winery Azienda Agricola Zuffa is located in Imola, a small town in the Emilia Romagna region.
The Historia Spumate Demi-Sec Rosé Gran Cru is a sparkling rosé wine made solely with organic Pinot Nero (Pinot Noir) grapes. The color was a pale pink and alcohol by volume was liste at 11.5%. Strangely enough the bottle didn’t list the vintage (or maybe I was just blind and didn’t find it). I’d assume though that it’s a 2010 vintage since it’s been a while since I bought it.
On the nosa very intensive aromas of strawberries and cherries were present.
On the palate again an overwhelming taste of strawberries. In general very soft, light and overall harmonic The finish was extremely long for a sparkling rosé. Best served at 10 degrees Celsius.
The wine can be served with mushroom dishes, seafood or simply as aperitif. Historia Demi-Sec Rosé Gran Cru retails for around 22€ in store and can be bought online here at a slightly higher price.
I enjoyed every sip of this wine and fell in love with its intensive strawberry aromas (on the palate and on the nose!). The price is average for a qualtiy Demi-Sec Spumante. More well-known wineries like Ferrari or Franciacorta charge around the same. I conider Azienda Agricola Zuffa’s Historia better than Franciacorte one’s. Ferrari’s is on the same level. If you enjoy sparkling wines then this one might be your next treasure!
A great wine for celebrations of any kind, as a gift or just simply to enjoy! Historia Spumante Demi-Sec Gran Cru is recommended.
