On this day four years ago the first blog post was published on Vino in Love. I want to take a moment and thank all of Vino in Love’s readers for four great years! Thank you for your comments, feedback and of course for reading!
A lot has changed since the launch of this blog. Its name and layout but also my style of writing. I am looking forward to many more fun years.
While writing this short post, I am spending some days on the Italian Riviera in Levanto and the nearby Cinque Terre, one of the most beautiful strips of land in Europe. However, because the upcoming article is not quite ready, for now some of the pictures I took are all I can share.
Even though some of Italy’s greatest white wines hail from Liguria, I celebrated this anniversary early with a delicious bottle of ’14 Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough which I brought with me to Levanto. Below are my quick tasting notes for it. Needless to say, this bottle was the perfect choice to celebrate this blogoversary.
2014 Cloudy Bay – Sauvignon Blanc – Marlborough
Pale yellow color with hints of green hues. The very aromatic nose has lots of layers. Passion fruit, grapefruit and melon are most notable. Lime and and fresh-cut herbs become notable as the wine evolves in the glass.
In the mouth, this NZ Sauvignon Blanc is highly mineral, crisp and comes with a mouthwatering acidity. Complex, very elegant and overall harmonious. Flavors of ripe exotic fruit and citrus fruit. Lingering aftertaste.
That’s all for today and stay tuned for more. Cheers!
