Correct answers: B and C – Ripasso di Valpolicella, Passito di Brunello di Brunello di Montalcino. Ripasso is an Italian red wine from the Veneto. Passito di Brunello di Montalcino does not exist. Passito is always made from white grapes. Brunello di Montalcino is made with Sangiovese (red) grapes. Vin Santo is the most well-known dessert wine from the Montalcino area (and from all of Tuscany).
Why is the year 1963 an important date in Italian wine history?
Correct answer: C – New DOC regulations were introduced.
